Aaron Sorkin is a genius. I have known that forever, as he wrote amazing things like A Few Good Men and The West Wing . This film was similar to that, especially with the fast talking awesomeness, but the problem was that the story itself was kind of a snooze, not to mention that Jesse Eisenberg is pretty obnoxious and not at all attractive. The story is pretty well-known already because Facebook is wicked popular, so there were no real surprises in the plotline. Overall, it was an okay movie. That's about all. What's interesting is my favorite part about the film was Justin Timberlake. I can't believe I'm saying it, but he's not a terrible actor, and he's really funny. Shocking, I know. This movie was hyped like crazy as one of the best movies this past year and how everyone in it was going to be nominated. I should have known that it would be pretty boring, but of course, I didn't. The story is about lesbian couple Nic (Annette Bening) and Jules (Julianne Moore) raising two kids, the girl from Alice in Wonderland and the boy from Journey to the Center of the Earth . They find their sperm donor, Mark Ruffalo, and chaos ensues. Nic is super threatened and Jules ends up sleeping with him. The movie ends when their daughter leaves for college. First of all, I thought Annette Bening was great, but then again, I always think she's great, so that's nothing new. The story definitely dragged a bit, but there were parts that were funny and interesting, like when Jules told her to watch her drinking because it's day time and Nic said same thing with the micromanaging. I love Tom Cruise. I can't help it. I realize he's probably legitimately crazy and is horrible or whatever, but I like him. That being said, this movie was kind of a bomb. It was funny - but it's hard to say if that's because the script was good or Tom Cruise has a ton of charisma. Probably the latter. Anyway, after about 30 minutes, I started fast-forwarding through the pointless chases (which I usually like) and then all of a sudden it was over. Because that's all the movie was - chases, you know? The opening scenes were good before you got the actual back story because you hoped a little bit that he was actually crazy or the movie was going to be like 24 , but nope. Whatever. They are both getting too old for this stuff, in my opinion. And why did he have to take his shirt off a ton of times? It's not like he looks sexy or something with his old man stomach like Stallone or something. Whatever. Go ahead and skip this one.

I just started watching this movie. "I just kept stacking up lies like it was Jenga." Hilarious. The writing so far has been really fantastic, especially for a high school movie like this. So far the cast has been good - Emma Stone plays the title role of a girl who lies about losing her virginity to a guy at community college and the lie spreads like crazy. The cast is genius. Malcolm McDowell as the high school principal, Stanley Tucci as her father, Lisa Kudrow as the guidance counselor, Thomas Haden Church as her teacher - genius. Even Amanda Bynes was great and she pretty much sucks. My favorite part though, of course, was the writing. It was like Mean Girls only more sarcastic because Lindsey Lohan isn't that funny. I am very happy so far. The scenes with her parents are absolutely hilarious - especially Stanley Tucci. I seriously think that he should be in every movie ever. When 24 was first on the air, I watched the first season and liked it. After that, my parents kept watching and I gave up on it. Keifer Sutherland largely makes me irritated and if you missed a single episode the whole show was basically ruined. Anyway, Netflix is awesome because they put entire series of shows on the instant queue, which means I can watch them on my computer whenever I want. Shows like Buffy and LOST have all the seasons on there, and it's great. I recently discovered that 24 is one of those shows, and since there is nothing good on TV lately (seriously, nothing), I gave it a shot. This show is like crack. Like, I don't want to do anything but watch this show all the time. I'm on season three right now, and I absolutely love it. I mean, okay, there are some parts that are stupid and I wish that sometimes it was just one storyline instead of four, especially because I usually hate at least one of the storylines (usually with his daughter Kim, lol). The nominations for the Golden Globes have been released, and I am, of course, very excited about it. I have seen almost none of the movies, so I'm going to get started as soon as possible. I just made a list of all the movies that are nominated this year, and it's 28 films, not including the five foreign films. Yikes. And unfortunately, I've only seen Inception and I fell asleep so I need to rewatch it. Oh, and I saw Toy Story 3 - so that's 27 movies to go! Might as well add in the foreign ones, so it's 32 movies left to see! I will say that I'm excite this year because most of the films nominated are ones I've been excited about seeing! Woo! Here goes!

I went to see the new installment of the Harry Potter series. For the final book, they decided (rightfully so) to split the book in half and have two separate movies. Ultimately, I think it was a good decision, even if it made the first one insanely boring in parts. Overall, I really liked the movie, but it was definitely not for children. The violence was not for kids, and neither were the themes nor the general plotline. But I suppose if you were 12 or so when the first film came out, it would be appropriate for you because you would have grown up with the story and it wouldn’t be inappropriate. There were definitely some kids in the theatre that I thought shouldn’t be seeing the film, most definitely. I think that Emma Watson (Hermione) has grown up nicely and she is a fairly decent actress. That is really saying something because she was the worst actress in the first few films.
