I remember at the Golden Globes a few years ago, this show called Mad Men won a ton of awards and nobody had ever heard of it. But, of course, because apparently I’m resistent to change, I refused to watch it only on that basis. But it always sounded like a really good show, and it’s set in the late 50s early 60s, and that’s cool. I used to love that show American Dreams (remember that show? It was awesome until it got to be the late 60s and bummed everyone out) and I figured Mad Men would be a lot like that. And it kind of is, two episodes in. The first episode was okay, but was mostly riddled with “hey! check out this doctor smoking!” and “hey! everyone drinks at work!” and “hey! photo copiers don’t exist yet!” moments, which was fine but got a bit tedious. When 30 Rock first started, I watched the first episode, maybe the first two, and I thought it was stupid. This is the same reaction I had to The Office when it first started, and I have discovered the awesomeness of that show. Because I’m on detail in New York and have little else to do, I started watching 30 Rock because I was tired of watching episodes of Buffy on the Netflix instant queue. Seriously. Anyway, it’s hilARious! How did I miss out on this show? Alec Baldwin is a freaking genius and Tina Fey rocks. I don’t really care about Jane Kra-whatever from Ally McBeal, but I recognize that she’s a good sidekick character. I’m convinced I’m the only person left who doesn’t like this show, but if you’ve been boycotting it for no reason like I was, give it a second chance. You won’t be sorry. I’m in New York for the month of August on detail for work, which is fun kind of, but I miss my boyfriend and my dogs a lot. I am currently watching Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami and I think it’s the most addictively awesome show I have ever seen. I don’t even care about the stupid Kardashians, but this show is hilarious and full of drama, and I’m pretty sure that guy Scott is the guy Christian Bale played in American Psycho. Seriously, the psycho. If you have a free half hour sometime, they always play the episodes on E!, so watch one sometime. It’s hilarious. Anyway, other than that it’s work work and more work. We are working more overtime than normal because we’re on detail and they put us up in a sweet hotel. Speaking of working, I am super tired and am going to go to sleep pretty soon. Yawn.

Okay, so I’m a huge fan of the Twilight series – not so much the movies, but definitely the books. The third movie in the series just came out and I just returned home from seeing it. It was… okay. The acting was horrendous, and they put everyone in this super thick makeup that was insane. Bella looked way too made up, like it was an attempt to make her look more attractive, but succeeded only in making her look like a drag queen. Plus, her eyebrows weren’t the same, and that is distracting. The acting from her was, as always, crappy. Slightly better than the last movie, but marginally. Edward acted… weird the whole time. I don’t know if they made him act differently or something, but the connection between him and Bella just wasn’t there. This is something that kind of bugs me about the series when they adapted it to film. When you read the books, it’s Edward all the way. You kind of feel bad for Jacob but not really because it’s so obvious that Edward and Bella are supposed to be tog...

I love the World Cup. I have never really been a fan of soccer – probably because I’m an American. We, in general, hate soccer because we suck at it and the scores are always really low and it’s pretty boring. However, spend 20 or 30 minutes listening to guys talk about how the game is played and it suddenly becomes wicked interesting. Except off-sides. I still don’t get that. I highly encourage everyone to watch the World Cup – not so much this time because it’s almost over, but next time for sure. My favorite team is Argentina because they are awesome. Granted, they just got stomped by Germany REALLY bad and are out of the World Cup, but they still rock. America sucks at it, but who cares. It’s fun to watch and it’s like the Olympics, only the same game over and over. At first you get mad because nobody ever scores and sometimes the final score is 0-0. But you know what? When they DO score, it’s awesome and super exciting. You can’t say that about basketball because the score is like...

This is the greatest game in the whole world. I love it!!! They did a great job making the game exactly like the movie, and Lego games are just way more fun than everything else. I will be seeing the new Twilight movie Eclipse tomorrow and will post a review soon after. I expect awesomeness, so let’s hope I’m not disappointed. LOST puzzles rock. Google them. Spoiler alert, first of all. For the whole post. So here’s the thing. It’s not like I expected all these answers or anything, but I did expect something… else. The way I figure it (and no, I haven’t read anything people have posted online yet), there are only a few possible scenarios: It’s all in Jack’s head. Jack gets flung into the jungle of the island when flight 815 crashes, and dies shortly after the crash. In his head, he concocts this whole storyline – or it’s a test. When you’re about to die, it’s like purgatory kind of, and you have to pass some test or something like that to decide whether or not you get into heaven or hell or whatever. Jack’s test is to redeem himself by choosing to sacrifice himself to save others and how he can put other people first and that he can’t always “fix” things. Anyway, in the few minutes that he’s alive after crashing, all of this stuff happens, he passes the test by choosing to become the protector of the island and sacrifice himself. And then ...
