Right now, I’m at 16/17 with my predictions – see the below posts for more info. UGH The Hangover won best comedy just now. 16/18. I mean, I kind of knew that It’s Complicated wasn’t going to win, but a girl can wish. Surprisingly, I think the funniest presenter was Arnold Schwarzenegger, and he was absolutely hysterical – and burned Jay Leno pretty hard, too. Sandra Bullock won for The Blind Side, which was one of my favorite performances this year, and her acceptance speech was like her dress – pretty lame. 17/19. I picked Robert Downey Jr. for Sherlock Holmes because I like him – not very scientific on my part, but I didn’t get to see the nominated movies except (500) Days of Summer which was terrible. Best speech of the night goes to Robert Downey Jr., because he is hysterical and amazing and I love him forever. 18/20. Jeff Bridges was my guess for Best Actor, and he won. 19/21. For the first part of the awards, see the post below. I have now successfully predicted 8/9 awards. But, alas, thems the breaks. I gave up on Michael C. Hall and I shouldn’t have. I chose not to predict any of the mini series because I didn’t see any of them. And ugh, Drew Barrymore’s speech was tweeky and pathetic and lame. Up In The Air got Best Screenplay, and the guy who accepted it looked like Andrew W.K. Weird. 9/10. And Alec Baldwin, again, won for 30 Rock. Even though I’ve only seen one episode of the show, it’s so easy to predict his win. 10/11. Best Foreign Language Film was The White Ribbon from Germany, which I seriously predicted at the last minute, so I’m going to count it as 11/12. It’s usually Germany or France, to be honest with you. Hooray for the Golden Globes!! Ricky Gervais is hilarious as usual, and even made a Jay Leno joke – which is always funny because everyone apparently loves Conan – which is true. Okay, the first award is to Mo’Nique, which I successfully predicted – I also picked Toni Collette for The United States of Tara, which is impressive because I don’t watch any of the nominated shows. Lol. I feel dumb though because Toni Collette is British and I totally missed that. So far, 2/2. I think I should get credit for picked John Lithgow as Best Supporting Actor, even though I always will pick Michael Emerson. Poor LOST, I swear it won’t ever win anything again and that is sad. Coraline was so amazingly great, but again, as I predicted, Up was the winner. 4/4. So far, the acceptance speeches have been lame. What I hate is Mo’Nique got like 10 minutes for her acceptance speech, but the guy who accepted the award for Up only like like 20 seconds. Of course, he isn’t famous, but still. Okay, I failed. I was not able to watch all of then nominated films before the award ceremony – I explained a little bit about this before, but the other part is the time just wasn’t there. But it WILL be for the Oscars. I WILL see them all. Anyway, here are my predictions for the film portion of the Globes: Best Picture – Drama: Avatar will win. It has to. It is amazing. And I swear, if Up In The Air wins instead, I will be shocked and utterly saddened. Best Performance by an Actress – Drama: Sandra Bullock for The Blind Side. For sure. Nobody else stands a chance. Best Performance by an Actor – Drama: I didn’t get to see Crazy Heart, but I have a feeling Jeff Bridges gets it for sure. Best Picture – Musical/Comedy: I personally believe It’s Complicated deserves the win, but we all know it probably won’t win. But if it’s The Hangover, that would be stupid. I want It’s Complicated. Best TV Series – Drama: I want Big Love, but my guess is Mad Men, even though I’ve never seen it. Eventually I will give in and watch this show. Best Performance by an Actress, TV Drama: Julianna Marguiles, The Good Wife. Best Performance by an Actor, TV Drama: This one is a little hard, but the season of House was a more stand-out season, so I think Hugh Laurie gets it. My second choice is Jon Hamm. Best TV Series, Comedy: Although I personally believe Modern Family is the greatest show in years, I think Glee will win in this category because it’s such a vastly different show. But I’m just saying – it’s not as funny as Modern Family. Best Performance by an Actress, TV Comedy: I watch none of these shows, so my guess is Toni Collette, with a back-up of Courtney Cox. Best Performance by an Actor, TV Comedy: Like always, my guess is Alec Baldwin, and I bet I’m right yet again. As you all know, I have been trying to see all the films nominated for Golden Globes this year before the actual ceremony. This will be awesome because I will have seen almost all of the movies that are also nominated for Oscars. The Globes are on Sunday, and I will not be able to see all the movies, and here’s why. First of all, Crazy Heart, A Single Man, and A Serious Man all were limited releases (i.e. NOT in Dayton, Ohio) that came out in December and January. Thus, their DVD releases won’t be until later this year, and their downloads are VERY hard to find. The Last Station and The Lovely Bones don’t even come out in theatres until January 15th, and the Globes are on the 17th! Insane. Just because the voters get special screening copies doesn’t mean regular people don’t want to see the movies. Seriously. Ugh.

Meh. Emily Blunt was good. The movie was vanilla. I have little to say about it. At least it was better than that Boleyn movie, which was some of the worst crap I have ever seen. Emily Blunt will NOT win the Globe. I hope not, anyway.
