The Golden Globes: Part Three

Right now, I’m at 16/17 with my predictions – see the below posts for more info. UGH The Hangover won best comedy just now. 16/18. I mean, I kind of knew that It’s Complicated wasn’t going to win, but a girl can wish.

Surprisingly, I think the funniest presenter was Arnold Schwarzenegger, and he was absolutely hysterical – and burned Jay Leno pretty hard, too. Sandra Bullock won for The Blind Side, which was one of my favorite performances this year, and her acceptance speech was like her dress – pretty lame. 17/19. I picked Robert Downey Jr. for Sherlock Holmes because I like him – not very scientific on my part, but I didn’t get to see the nominated movies except (500) Days of Summer which was terrible. Best speech of the night goes to Robert Downey Jr., because he is hysterical and amazing and I love him forever. 18/20.

Jeff Bridges was my guess for Best Actor, and he won. 19/21. I really enjoyed Tobey Maguire’s performance in Brothers, but Jeff Bridges was going to win and everyone knew it, whether they saw the movie or not, right? Right.

And… drumroll… The Golden Globe for Best Picture – Drama goes to… It better be Avatar… YES!!!!! AVATAR FOR THE WIN!!!! HUZZAH!!!!

So that’s it for the Golden Globes. I successfully predicted 20 out of 22 winners. I will do better for the Oscars and will hopefully have seen all the nominated films. All in all, the Globes this year was kind of lame, but definitely props to Robert Downey Jr., Arnold, and Ricky Gervais. They rock.
