my opinion matters

This show is great, because I love dancing. The problem is, I'm not a huge fan of contemporary dance, or at least the contemporary dance that gets featured on the show. It's way too much like boring dance recitals from my high school and I find it boring. Isn't it possible to have contemporary dance to some upbeat music? It's like the winter olympics with figure skating. They always do the fun and fast song with the short program but the long program is always something slow and crazy boring. Like that one guy's JFK thing - who was that? Somebody Wyle or something. Anyway, it's all about contemporary, and I guess it's awesome or whatever, but then they add all the broadway dancing in there and it's like what the hell? It's not that much fun to watch and it isn't that impressive to watch when it's only two people - and the hip hop routines and just getting worse and worse, thanks to stupid Tabitha and Napoleon, who are totally hit or miss. I have always said that season 4 of LOST is, hands down, the worst season ever. However, I might be wrong. I bought the entire series on blu-ray (which is awesome), and I started watching the episodes from the beginning. I waited a fair amount of time after the show had ended because I was upset about the stupid ending and I didn't want that to taint my experience. Yes, I am a total geek. Anyway, I'm currently watching season 4, the weird episode when Jack has appendicitis (stupid). And yes, some of the storylines are weird and the freighter people are obnoxious (just Charlotte, really), but overall it's a good season. The acting is great even though the writing sucks, and Jin gets some great scenes - especially when he talks to Charlotte in Korean - that scene was awesome. Anyway, it's really not that bad. To be completely honest, I was not overly excited about Super 8 because the previews made it look like another one of those movies where you never see the monster until the end and it's a huge disappointment. Plus, there are children actors, and that usually spells disaster and overacting. Happily, this was not like that. I mean, it was, but in a really great way. Spielberg plus J.J. Abrams equals awesome. I don't want to give away anything if you haven't seen it, but it's basically about a group of kids who are working on a monster movie and see a train derailed and then alien destruction happens. What was great about it, though, wasn't even the plot. The cinematography was really great but subtle and the acting was extraordinarily good, especially the kids. The director of the monster movie was awesome and the lead kid was also great. My favorite, though, was the blonde kid with the braces who liked blowing stuff up. I went out for drinks tonight with people from work - I don't usually like to socialize with people I work with because, in general, I don't like people and I fear that my face doesn't mask my dislike. But I figured since we work out of our homes, it's not like I see these people ever, so it would be relatively fun. And it totally was. Granted, I was only there for a few hours, but it was fun. Three rum and cokes later and I came home. Do you ever wonder how you come across to other people? I generally assume I'm awesome, but it's completely possible I am just as annoying as I find most people. That would suck. But then again, I don't put a lot of thought into it, so if they think I'm obnoxious, it doesn't really matter. I also hate that once you hit about 25, you can't tell how old other people are anymore. In high school and college if you assume that everyone is your age, you're almost always right. I am totally typing on my new netbook right now. And it is awesome. Small and kind of hard to get used to, but it is the greatest thing EVER! And it is pink plaid on the front. Now I get to buy lots of accessories for it, which is the most fun ever! I'm going to get a wireless tiny pink mouse probably, and a case! I can't wait! Wow, I am a totally geek. The best part is how comfortable it is to type on. The keys are smooth and super comfy and not too clicky, which can be obnoxious. Huzzah for netbooks! My birthday is on the 13th of June, and my boyfriend is totally buying me a netbook because he is awesome. The best part about having a netbook is that I can and will blog like, all the time. Especially while watching television. It's going to be awesome. Things that are not awesome? The weather. Seriously, I know I've lived in Ohio my whole life, but I hate that spring doesn't exist anymore. I mean, it was 40 degrees, and then it was 90. It was 40. Then 90. That is SO global warming. The great part is that I didn't complain all winter so that I could complain like a crazy person during the summertime. It's totally hypocritical to complain during the winter AND the summer, because then you're just being picky. Choose a season and stick to it.
