Oscar Predictions 2011
Okay, so I have decided that I don't care about the Academy Awards this year because, in my opinion, none of the movies are worth me caring about. So, instead of predicting who I think will win, I think I'm going to list the movies that will make me mad if they win. Much more fun! To be fair to some of the films, I haven't seen them, so I won't include those in my "ugh" predictions. I got irritated with the films I actually saw so I stopped watching. I will also not be blogging live during the show, but will have a post-Oscars blog that I'm sure you will read. :) Here goes!
Best Picture - The Fighter. This movie was not worth all the hype. If it wins, that would be a travesty. I am honestly pulling for Toy Story 3 and Black Swan, but I think everyone thinks it'll be The Social Network, which is whatever. Just not Mark Wahlberg.
Best Actor - NOT Jesse Eisenberg because he was okay but really irritating. I am excited to see The King's Speech because I assume Colin Firth will win for it, but I'm secretly pulling for Jeff Bridges.
Best Actress - I will be mad if anyone but Annette Bening or Natalie Portman win because they are great and everyone else is terrible.
Best Supporting Actor - NOT Jeremy Renner and definitely not Mark Ruffalo (I bet Christian Bale wins because he was amazing in that movie even though the movie itself was really bad)
Best Supporting Actress - NOT Amy Adams and not Helena Bonham Carter.
Animated - NOT The Illusionist. Both of the others were excellent and both of them made me cry.
Writing - If Aaron Sorkin doesn't win, I will be upset. But not THAT upset because the script wasn't really that good, but I love Aaron Sorkin, so I don't care.
So there you go. I am less than enthused about the show this year, so I hope it isn't horrible.
