Star Trek: A Love Letter

I love Star Trek. Especially The Next Generation, which I personally think is the best ever. Of course, I've never really watched the orginial, but that will change soon. Netflix, in their enduring wisdom, has jacked up their rates to make it so you can't have the instant queue and receive DVDs in the mail without paying out the ass. Whatever, I will keep my instant queue and will be super happy. Especially because now the instant queue inclues Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise. No Deep Space Nine, which is a little strange, but not important. I have started with TNG because it's my favorite and I love it. I'm currently watching season 2 out of 7, and I have seriously never been happier. And I'll tell you something - the things I used to find irritating about the show (mainly Wesley Crusher and Deanna Troi) are not irritating to me at all anymore. In fact, I think Wesley is a super interesting and well thought out character. AWESOME.

After watching TNG, I will move backwards to the original series. I am nervous, but hope that I will like it. I decided that I can not in good conscious call myself a fan if I have never seen the original episodes. That will be remedied soon, especially at the rate I am going. After that will be the others, which are not as good but still part of the package. I am very excited about this undertaking. So far, it's been awesome. A little cheesy at times, especially with most of the sets on away missions, but still awesome. Like always, Data is one of my favorites, if not my absolute favorite. I still think Riker is obnoxious, but he definitely serves a purpose. Worf is better than I remembered, and Geordi is not as good as I remembered (after all, I was Geordi for like four Halloween's in a row or something). I love it. Can't wait for the next episode! If you have the instant queue, which you should, I highly recommend watching. Hooray!
