April

Today is April 1st. First of all, I can’t believe it’s already April – the new year just started, I swear. But I think April is going to be a good month. I start my new job (salaried and everything!) and the weather is nice again. But you know what is the best? That I am finally old enough that people don’t do April Fool’s Day stuff anymore. I used to really hate that when I was a kid. I mean, it’s hard enough to tell when someone is kidding or being serious, and then to have everyone around you doing it? Ugh. That’s definitely the worst. I guess that’s what you get when you get older. I hope by the time I turn 30 (I’ll be 26 this year) I will have gotten over the whole aging thing, because as of right now, I’m not really loving it. 26. That sounds old. But whatever. I’m just kicking it at the house today, hanging out with the animals and finally getting over this evil cold I spread around the house. Oops. Plus, yesterday I stepped on a tack. And not just ooh I pricked my foot stepped

The New Fame

So, go ahead and skip the new version of Fame that came out. If you saw the first one, then you know almost the exACT plot of the new one. There’s even a scene where one guy convinces a younger girl that he’ll get her an acting job if he can tape her audition and tries to sleep with her, etc etc. You know how that one ends. Some of the cool dance and music scenes were okay, but mostly it was lame. Same old. Why do they keep doing that anyway? Remaking movies that shouldn’t ever be remade like Fame and Starsky & Hutch and it’s stupid. Grumble. At least the professors were Kelsey Grammar, Bebe Neuwirth and Meagan Mullally.

MTV Movie Award Nominations

I always watch the MTV award shows, including the movie one, because it’s usually fun and most of the celebrities show up to accept them. The categories this year are pretty funny, and I decided to cast my votes this morning. I haven’t seen a lot of the films that are nominated (like Jennifer’s Body and The Bounty Hunter), but it’s still fun to vote anyway. Here are the categories and who I voted for, regardless of who will win. Some awards shows are fun because you can predict the winners, like at the Oscars and the Golden Globes, but I like the MTV awards because it’s just for fun. So here goes… Best Kiss – I only saw a few of the nominees, and am voting for Valentine’s Day, whether it’s the Taylors or Jennifer Garner/Ashton Kutcher. That movie was adorable. I’m thinking it will go to one of them, or maybe to the lesbian kiss in The Runaways, because, you know. Best Fight – Any of the Star Trek ones would be great, as would the fight in Obsessed between Ali Larter and Beyonce. But I

Movies I Saw Yesterday

Last night, Ryan and I watched Ninja Assassin and The Final Destination and here are my thoughts. Both of the films had pretty bad dialogue and were a bit overdramatic, but they were both enjoyable and fun to watch. Ninja Assassin was particularly awesome, especially because you could kind of tell their operating budget probably wasn’t very high. Matrix-like effects, sweet fight choreography, it was great. It was a bit gory for my taste – it would have been just as good without the random spurting blood and decapitations and grossness. But it didn’t really detract from it – after awhile you got used to it. But see the movie if you get the chance – of course, it was predictable, like any movie like this is, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t great. And seriously, who doesn’t love a good ninja movie? As for The Final Destination, which is the fourth and final one in the series, it was definitely better than I expected. The third one was pretty awful, but the second one has always been one o
